Sing Along to Mambo ya Ajabu...

(Oooh..aaah)

Mambo ya ajabu
Mambo ya ajabu
Wewe unantenda Babaaaa
Mambo ya ajabu
Mambo ya ajabu
Mambo ya ajabu
Wewe unatenda Babaaaaa
Mambo ya ajabu

(Ooooohooooh)

Mambo ya ajabu
Mambo ya ajabu
Wewe unatenda Babaaaa
Mambo ya ajabu
Mambo ya ajabu
Mambo ya ajabu
Wewe unatenda Babaaaaa
Mambo ya ajabu

The Present God

Psalms 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though the waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

Often times we think of God as a supernatural being who lives in a far away land because you can't see Him nor reach to touch Him; the best you can do is just believe that He is present. I have learn't something though; that what you and i think are only our thoughts and God says that He is bigger than our thoughts--we cannot contain who God is in our thoughts:)

The Psalmist talks about a God who is ever present in times of trouble. I believe that David said this out of experience and not just out of the blue. Because through out his life he saw God come through for him time and time again. When we go through times of trouble it's easy to get covered up in the overwhelming waves of trouble and begin to think that God has either forsaken us or just forgotten us yet He says that He will never leave nor forsake us.

As i meditate upon this word today my conclusion can only boil down to one thing we've got to trade our thoughts for His word so we can experience the present God in our lives! We need to come to a place where our thoughts or feelings do not dictate who God is in our lives because He is beyond our own reasoning and comprehension. Refuse to allow your thoughts to determine God's position in your life and instead take God at His word and believe that He is present in all things and at all times because He is and will always be the ever present God!

Love and Blessings:)

The Birth of Mambo Ya Ajabu

God's ways are amazing and beyond understanding. He is too wide.. too deep..too high for us to figure Him out. In 2012 God gave me this song at a time when in reality there was nothing amazing to sing about because i started the year jobless and desperate after losing a job that i had thought was gonna be my biggest break!

Through it all though i took God at His word and i held on to my faith because i knew that God still had a plan and all things were working together for my good. I remember times when i was shattered and wondered if God really felt my pain; times when all i could do is just be still and know that He is God and in all this times the one thing that i did not lose was my love for God. I knew He was the only hope i had and losing Him would mean losing myself.

I spent most of my time meditating on His goodness and His word and one time during those moments the words great and mighty things just popped in my mind and before i knew it this lovely tune came and i started singing along. I first sang it in English then i realized that it sounds even better in Swahili. I remembered a scripture in the Bible that had the same message but i didn't quite know where exactly it was in the Bible so i looked it up on my Bible and there it was--Jeremiah 33:3

I knew God was speaking to me through this song because this part of scripture talks about restoration and in the entire chapter the only portion that stood out for me were the words "Great and Mighty things"

At a time when i had every reason to believe that God had probably forgotten me Mambo ya Ajabu was born; a worship song that talks about the greatness of God. I testified of His greatness even when i had nothing to show for it. Before the end of the year i got another job and today i sing this song with a revelation of who God is and what He is able to do. The words of Jeremiah in chapter 33:3 "Call unto me and i will tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know" have been so real in my life.

I pray that as you listen to this song, the God of great and mighty things will minister to you and be revealed Mightily in your life so you too can bear witness to this testimony:)

Love and Blessings.
